It felt great to be back on home turf for this one.
I’d been hanging out all season to ride something here at The Remarkables and have had this idea of riding the chutes at night under a full moon for quite some time now. So with the weather being as amazing as it had been, I figured, now was the time, why not pull the trigger and give it go.
I’ve also been eyeing up those chutes at the bottom of Wye Creek all season, as I’ve ridden them quite a few times in past seasons and had always had them on my mind as a good location to attempt at night.
I knew it was going to be tough snow conditions, as NZ hasn’t exactly been having the greatest season. But I was up for the gamble and ready to roll the dice, and of course, I went in with the attitude of “it works it works, if it doesn’t no big deal”.
Either way, I was stoked on a night out under the stars, camping in one of my favourite zones in NZ. Always good times!
