This week snowboarding is getting a big injection of much needed steroids with the highly anticipated new event tour kicking off on Feb 3 – The Natural Selection. They’re claiming it’s “the highest echelon of competitive snowboarding” and well…we totally agree and it hasn’t even started.
The worlds best snowboarders, male and female will be hitting Jackson Hole, Baldface and Alaska competiting in a freeride style course/arena where mind blowing riding will be going down. Click here to read up more about the event.
We caught up with one of those ‘best’ snowboarders is Sage Kotsenburg. You’ve heard of him…Won the first ever Olympic gold medal in slopestyle in Sochi, Russia plus boasting a couple X Games medals in both slopestyle and big air recent recipient of the Snowboarder Mag Rider of the Year Award in 2020.
Watch our chat with Sage this morning here:
Sage has tapped out of the comp side of snowboarding the past few years, strictly focusing on filming in the backcountry and putting in the yards. He’s got it down now and is on the constant pursuit to go further, harder, bigger, whatever it is to push boundaries out there. Watch his latest and greatest film ‘Halcyon’ below:
The above film was captured in 2019 where Sage and company hit the remote backcountry to capture some of the most exclusive riding in the world. Including Jackson Hole, Park City, Whistler, Canada and Alaska.
Stay tuned for more from Sage this week at the Natural Selection event…which we’ll be dropping daily coverage and updates of.
