Saving on lift ticket prices in Australia is like winning the lottery. A few seasons ago, we wrote about how to afford to go snowboarding in this day and age, and long story short, it’s not easy – but there are a few ways to do it.
The season pass remains exceptional value if you use it regularly or live close to the mountain, but in reality, copping the full whack of the cost of a season pass doesn’t make sense for riders who just want to get down for a rip for a weekend or two. There are the cheaper, novelty family friendly resorts if that’s what you’re looking for, and you can always ditch the chairlift for the skin trail – but walking uphill isn’t for most people.
So when a deal comes around that allows us city folk to save some coin on a weekend trip, it’s worth paying attention to.

Off the back of a little early snowfall, our mates at Thredbo have announced a 4 Day Flexi Pass – allowing you full flexibility to ride any 4 days throughout the 2025 season with no lock-in dates.
Transfer Banked Slalom – just saying.
It works out at $169 per day, cheaper for groms and seniors – a far cry from 90s prices, but an absolute steal amongst today’s jaw dropping single day lift ticket prices. Consider it a 30% off sale from someone who rarely offers 30% off sales.
Securing a few days now allows you to watch the forecast, whip down for the weekend and score the storm of the season, first chair to last – or cruise down in spring and hike the mini pipe with your mate who used to be able to handplant.

You’ll probably also catch a glimpse of a couple of Olympians riding The Stomping Grounds between laps, a nice little gift with purchase.
According to ChatGPT, the last time Thredbo put the 4-day flexi pass on offer was 8 years ago, and given the fact that the cost of exactly everything is going up, a lift ticket today at pre-covid prices? We’ll take that.
The 4 Day Flexi pass is available at thredbo.com.au from 27 May to 1 June and allows you to ride any 4 days from opening to closing weekend (June 7th to October 6th)
Embrace the weekend warrior in you, and we’ll see you on the Kozi chair.
