Ethan Morgan and Method Mag have done it again.
It’s pure, unrivalled snowboarding and the DIYX STRT Jam Stockholm this year was nothing short of mayhem — taking over some of Sweden’s most iconic city locations for a two day rail event featuring your favourite snowboarders’ favourite snowboarders.
Now in its third year, the event has evolved amazingly, morphing into one of the must-see events in the snowboarding world where creativity meets sheer carnage. Snowboarding icons and new talent come together to hit custom-built spots scattered across Stockholm’s various landmarks. From gritty custom built rails to wall rides and triple kinks, DIYX turns regular town squares and stairsets into makeshift snow parks with an all hands on deck DIY spirit. Throw in a bit of fire and you’re in for a good time.
Kicking things off, Method Mag celebrated its 30th anniversary in style with a party featuring live sets by Trouble Andrew and Sweden’s own punk heroes, No Fun at All. A celebration of snowboarding bringing riders, fans, and music lovers together, set the perfect tone for the days ahead. Vans, Oakley, and Monster Energy showed up in a big way too, helping bring an extra dose of stoke to the sessions, keeping the crowds fueled with gear and giveaways.
Although the real winner of the weekend is snowboarding, ultimately there is still some prize money to give away at DIYX, and it was Oyvind Kirkhusand and Egan Wintfor who took home best overall champs – with a cheque each and a whole lot of glory.
DIYX keeps delivering year in year out on its promise of a no-frills, rider-focused event that embraces everything snowboarding culture stands for: creativity, community, and just a bit of chaos.
We hope it’s here to stay!
