Interview | Tess Coady Signs With The North Face

We chat to Tess about her new sticker job, season plans and what she can't live without!

Hot off the press, Aussie Snowboarder Tess Coady has just announced her new signing with The North Face. A match made in heaven. Stoked.

Tess has recently come off an absolute heater of a Northern Hemisphere season. Need a recap? It started with a Bronze at the iconic LAAX Open Slopestyle event, then into Bronze at the World Champs Slopestyle event in Aspen, also taking out 5th at the World Champs Big Air, then into Bronze at the World Cup Slopestyle event.

How did she finish? Like a QUEEN. Literally. She was the QUEEN of the Audi Nines event, winning all 3 categories…an exquisite clean sweep – best trick, most creative and ruler of the week.

Since then, Tess has returned home and is more hungry than ever. Recently posting back up in the snow town of Jindabyne, she’s rocking a new sticker and head to toe North Face Kit. Joining some of the best females to ever do it including: Jess Kimura, Leanne Pelosi, Mary Rand, Marion Hearty and Michaela Davis-Meehan.

We caught up with Tess to chat about the new signing and her plans to take over the world.

Transfer: Tess, how’s it going? Where are you at currently?

Tess: Yo! Yeah going great! I’m in Jindabyne at the moment just chilling, boarding, you know it goes.

Nice! Congrats on the signing with The North Face. Stoked to join such a rad team of riders?

Thanks yeah absolutely hyped to be joining The North Face team, such a sick crew and epic gear, I’m stoked to be joining such a welcoming family

The North Face Female team is strong, who are some of your favourites your joining alongside?

Oh favourites on the team that’s easy, Jess Kumira, Mary Rand, Amanda Hankison, Leanne Pelosi just to name a few, they rip to say the least.

What’s your go to North Face kit for her in OZ this winter?

At the moment I’m running the Steep Series Future Light jacket and Chakal Pants.

What’s the plan for the rest of the season?

The Plan for the rest of the season is to rip around a bunch in Aus, get some time in the park for sure but also get out there in the pow, it’s been dumping so got to make the most of it when it comes here, then maybe later in the season I’ll head across the ditch if boarders permit.

Winter Mission out in the backcountry…Are you ready?

Yeah I’m super looking forward to Winter missions, it’s going to be a new challenge for me, I’ve never done an over night trip in the BC so I’m nervous but excited for a new challenge.

What’s the one North Face piece of gear you can’t live without?

The Thermoball Traction Booties go soo hard haha I froth those and everyone compliments me on them
