Winter Missions NZ Ep. 3 | Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Tiarn Collins, Cool Wakushima & Mitch Davern

We rounded up NZ's best riders and took over Cardrona from sunrise to sunset...

Cardrona Resort is the epicentre of NZ’s snowboarding scene, offering one of the worlds best terrain parks, that have now in turn, produced some of the worlds best snowboarders.

The goal of this mission, take over Cardrona for the day from sunrise to sunset with NZ’s best crew of riders, who are lucky to call Cardrona their backyard in the winter season.

We rallied together an all star crew for the mission, consisting of Zoi Sadowski-Synnott who boasts an Olympic bronze medal, X Games gold medals, Natural Selection gold, two time World Champ and US Open gold medalist. The scary thing is…she’s only just getting started! Zoi has taken the snowboarding world by storm and the best thing is, she’s breaking down boundaries for all female snowboarders…by far one of the most talented, stylish and down to earth snowboarders to do it.

Tiarn Collins got the call up, who’s on the NZ Olympic Team and competing in the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics in Slopestyle and Big Air. He’s been holding his own in the current World Cup events going down.

Cool Wakushima is another rising talent in the female snowboard scene from NZ. Currently chasing the Slopestyle and Big Air World Cup circuit this 21/22 Northern Hemisphere season and boasting a solid bag of tricks and constant progression.

Mitch Davern is the final member of the squad and another young talent from NZ. Having competed in the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in both Big Air and Slopestyle. All these crew call Cardrona their backyard in the winter and all know how to do one thing incredibly well…cut HOT LAPS.

Thanks to Cardrona, we got the crew up the mountain for a sunrise session to kick off the day. NZ mountain sunrises are unbeatable! Couple that with it’s unstoppable snowboarders…it was a session to remember.

After a few warm up laps, it was time to get it, and the crew didn’t hold back. Blue skies, minimal wind, hero snow…it all lined up for Zoi, Tiarn, Cool and Mitch to lap like bats out of hell.

After about lap 100, it was time to retire for the day. Somehow, still with some energy left in the tank it was time to salute the day with a beer. Because, there’s no other way to salute the day.
